Indiscretions
by Jean Cocteau
directed by Sean Mathias / assisted by David Elliott
produced by The Shubert Organization, Capital Cities/ABC, Roger Berlind, Scott Rudin
with Kathleen Turner, Eileen Atkins, Roger Rees, Cynthia Nixon and Jude Law
at The Barrymore Theatre, NYC
The play originally opened in London at The National Theatre. It transferred to New York and went into rehearsal with a new cast (with the exception of Jude Law, the only actor to remain in the company from the English cast) in March of 1995. It opened to rave reviews, was nominated for 9 Tony nominations, 6 Drama Desk’s It played for nearly 250 performances.
As my first foray into the professional theatre, I could not have asked for a better experience. Sean was incredibly generous with me, as was the cast and stage management team. Assisting on this show was so formative for me - the lessons I learned from these brilliant artists I carry with me to this day.
