An American In Paris

Considered by The Cape Cod Times as the “Best Show of 2022” An American In Paris was met with standing ovations for all-too-short run, cut short by covid.

The show was directed and choregraphed by the brilliant Al Blackstone, with music direction by Garret Taylor (conducting a 10 piece orchestra). Set design by David Arsenault, with costumes by D.W., lighting design by Catherin McDonald and sound by Jake Levitan.

As said The Cape Cod Times, “it’s impossible to imagine a more perfect melding of incomparable orchestration and brilliant lyrics, touching and complex romance, and glorious and soaring dance numbers. With the stunning choreography of director/choreographer Al Blackstone, dance becomes the visual language and underlying story of this show. Characters use fluid and graceful movement to express emotions and move action from one scene to the next. It’s fascinating to watch as set changes become part of the smooth and unbroken flow of the action.” And perhaps even more to the point, “if you can get tickets, see it. It’s that good” (The Cape Cod Chronicle)

The cast was a wonder, featuring Leigh Ann Esty as Lise Dissan with Josh Drake as Jerry Mulligan. Featuring Barrett Riggins, Bruce Landry, Manna Nichols, Jennifer Smith, Jack Doyle, and Wes Krukow. The rest of the brilliant cast includes Daniel Brackett, Victoria Byrd, Marc Cardarelli, Katie Griffith, Melissa J. Hunt, Hannah Jennens, Will Jewett, Kelsey Kaufman, David Paul Kidder, Andre Malcolm and Tara Sweeney.
